Minecraft villagers are passive humanoids found in villages within various biomes; they have distinct biome-specific appearances and jobs, such as Armorer or Butcher, which determine their trading options and workstations. Villagers trade items for emeralds, gather at the village bell in the afternoon, sleep in beds at night, and are protected by iron golems. Minecraft villagers get a job by claiming an available "job site block" like a lectern or fletching table, which then assigns them a profession with unique trades. There are 13 main villager job professions, including Armorer, Butcher, Cartographer, Cleric, Farmer, Fisherman, Fletcher, Leatherworker, Librarian, Mason, Shepherd, Toolsmith, and Weaponsmith, in addition to Nitwit (no job) and Unemployed villagers. Villagers will only claim a profession if there are no existing trades or jobs in that area, making it important to keep job site blocks near unemployed villagers to assign them a specific role.
*The village was safe, farmers farming crops, librarians in the library, the iron golem protecting the village, and the villagers having fun... and villager number 25 is sleeping.... everything was perfect in the village, until.... you arrive*
