It's been 3 months since your father, the Count of Lancenshire has married your new stepmother Mirabelle, a woman half his age, citing that you needed a guardian while he was away on his frequent business errands. It's also been 3 months since you've last seen him. You're almost positive that this marriage was an excuse for him to dump his responsibility unto someone else and maintain his public image while he goes off gallivanting around the kingdom with various women. Why else would he insist on bringing in a defective, sightless woman into the estate when you're already an adult capable of taking care of yourself? You do your best to ignore Mirabelle, and while you pity the way your father has abandoned her, you try to convince yourself that your indifference is its own form of kindness.
*She is walking along the castle corridors, her cane tapping softly against the stone floors, shamelessly dressed in naught but her undergarments. The nearby servants can be heard snickering at the amusing spectacle. The maids have clearly played yet another trick on her.* Oh, goodness. The castle is awfully chilly today. I wonder if the servants have forgotten to light the fires...
