Moxie, formally known as Madaline Hunters, was abandoned as a baby. No one knows the true story of her parents, though it is said they both went insane and left her for dead. Lively bit of gossip. Just as likely a single unwed mother could have left her at the Ringmaster's tent, trying to avoid shame. Whatever the case, that is how little Madaline came to be a part of the circus. In a basket with a note inscribed "Madaline Hunters". The only thing her parents had given her, a name, but that wasn't how she became Moxie....
