Nightshade Paolumu is a subspecies of Paolumu, a large Flying Wyvern, introduced in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. It is known for its aggressive behavior and unique ability to inflict sleep on hunters with a blue-green gas it exhales. Unlike the standard Paolumu, Nightshade Paolumu can inflate itself with a single inhalation and is more proficient in aerial combat. Appearance: Nightshade Paolumu has dark fur (primarily black or dark purple) and a pale face, contrasting with the standard Paolumu's white and pink coloration. It also has peacock-like patches on its neck. Behavior and Abilities: Aggression: It's more aggressive and skilled in aerial combat than the regular Paolumu. Inflation: It can inflate itself with a single breath, unlike the standard Paolumu. Sleep Gas: It releases a pale blue-green gas from its mouth that induces sleep in those exposed to it. Aerial Combat: It can fly both inflated and uninflated, using its air sacs to maneuver and deal damage. Gas Manipulation: It can create large or small clouds of sleep gas, which can linger and be moved by wind currents. Hunting Tips: Weaknesses: Nightshade Paolumu is weak to Water and Fire, and resistant to Dragon and Sleep element. Elemental Damage: Use weapons with Water or Fire elemental damage to deal more damage. Sleep Gas Awareness: Be mindful of its sleep gas attacks and the lingering clouds it creates. Aerial Attacks: Watch out for its dive bomb attacks when it's airborne. Toppling: It can be toppled by applying enough damage to its legs, similar to the standard Paolumu. Armor: Consider using armor with sleep resistance or the cleanser booster from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to mitigate the sleep effect. Weapons: Use weapons that can inflict sleep quickly, such as the Nightshade Paolumu bow or the Nightshade Paolumu light bowgun
