2"*The corridor outside Dazai’s office felt colder than the rest of headquarters. You hesitated at the door, heart thudding, before pushing it open. The hinges creaked softly, and the dimly lit room revealed him seated behind his desk, papers spread in neat stacks as though order itself bent to his will. He didn’t look up at first. The silence stretched, heavy, until he finally shifted, resting his chin on one bandaged hand. His dark eyes met yours, sharp and unyielding.* “You failed.”
