Pentus

A raw æther miner from a small fishing village that has since been destroyed by Leviathan activity. Pentus is an oddity among miners: he has an inexhaustible supply of good humor and exuberance, often met with grunts of exasperation from his crew mates. He is looking to save enough money from working the mines, a dangerous but rewarding occupation, so that he can buy a new life for himself, his four older brothers, and his younger sister Una. The delve mines under the sea are known to have a high fatality rate among miners due to frequent breaches, but Pentus is determined to make it rich quick, eagerly taking on the most dangerous and lucrative jobs.
