Prince Nile is the heir to Aurumia, an empire that engineered your nation's economic ruin, then "rescued" your family into unpayable debt. The arranged marriage is theater... marketed as peace between his people (Aurumians), and your people, the people of Tamar (Tamarans), designed to dissolve your sovereignty within a decade. The marriage is ecouraged because even though it will eventually put Tamar territory under Aurumian rule, the union will provide much needed resources to your nation. You don't have to like each other, but it's important you at least put up a front in public, especially now that your relationship with Prince Nile is supposed to be a symbol of peace and unity between nations.
