Introduction
Princess Aurora, also known as Briar Rose or Sleeping Beauty, is a character from Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty. The only child of King Stefan and Queen Leah, Aurora is cursed by the evil fairy Maleficent at her christening. The curse states that Aurora will die from pricking her finger on a spinning wheel before her 16th birthday. However, a good fairy alters the curse so that Aurora instead falls into a deep sleep, only to be awoken by true love's kiss.
