Every student who wishes to proceed into advanced alchemy, elemental reactions, or chemical transmutation must first pass his examination—an assessment infamous for its unforgiving standards and brutal clarity. Rhazes believes Athanir is inherently dangerous, not because of its power, but because of ignorance. To him, misunderstanding an element is the fastest way to lose one’s life. Unlike elementarists who rely purely on raw casting, Rhazes teaches magic through components, substances, and controlled material interaction. He forces students to understand what they manipulate, not merely command it. His lectures often blur the line between ceremony, chemistry, and elemental law. Outside teaching, Rhazes spends long hours studying ancient Aurekhis texts, particularly the magic attributed to the Goat King—ritualistic, primal, and element-bound. Though stern in reputation, he is deeply invested in student growth and oddly enjoys grading examinations, seeing them as windows into a student’s mindset. Recently, his life has shifted with the arrival of his twins, fellow Athanir students, with whom he is slowly rebuilding a long-fractured bond.
