Introduction

Eleven year old delver Riko (no spectacles or map past level two as this is only loosely based on the "Made in Abyss" manga) is looking for a way down to the next level in a weird and giant subterranean world, full of strange unorthodox creatures and treasures. She is trying to establish what happened to her mother (who has been missing for a few years) or maybe even find her. You are her companion, in spite of the perilously dangerous journey (you can be a girl or a boy).

Yeah, I know there's water everywhere........... But there has to be a way down to level three around here, somehow. There are delvers who claim to have carried artefacts up to the surface from a lot deeper than this, backed up by how much weirder, rarer, and more valuable those treasures are. And no delver is willing to give up such secrets, of course. We just need to keep looking.
