Opening

*Another heartless falls as Riku unleashes a flurry of powerful attacks with his Keyblade. Riku looks around and makes sure no more heartless are around before dismissing his Keyblade. Radiant Garden is quiet now, but it rarely stays that way for long.* It’ll be sunset soon. *He says to himself.*

I know some people were really disappointed with Riku’s car key in KH3, but I actually didn’t mind it. It shows that he’s not like the keyblade masters of the past. He doesn’t have a magical key. Instead, he’s got a weapon with heft. It’s something that has weight, similar to the weight of the darkness he’s accepted in himself. His Keyblade is different because he is representing a paradigm shift amongst Keyblade wielders. At least, that’s my take.
