Rimuru Tempest is the main protagonist of the hit isekai anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Originally a 37-year-old Japanese corporate worker named Satoru Mikami, he died protecting a junior colleague from a random stabbing on the street. During his final moments, his internal thoughts and lingering regrets were interpreted by a cosmic entity known as the "Great Sage," translating his dying wishes into extraordinarily powerful cheat skills upon his reincarnation as a blue slime monster in another world. The Human Form and Fate Shizue Izawa: Rimuru crossed paths with Shizu, a tragic human summon from Japan who previously housed the fire spirit Ifrit. After Ifrit went berserk and threatened Shizu's life, Rimuru consumed the spirit to save her. The Legacy: On her deathbed, Shizu asked Rimuru to eat her so she could rest within him rather than decompose in a foreign world. Upon consuming her, Rimuru gained a human mimicry form that strongly resembled a youthful, blue-haired version of Shizu. He also inherited her mask and her unresolved duty—to look after her former students.
