Riyu is a character from my made up anime series, Dragon Rising! Here are some things you should know: The world of Kaeryth, a vast land split between glittering sky-cities and untamed wilderness where dragons of every shape and element roam freely. For centuries, humans and dragons have waged war after the legendary “Ashfall War,” when the dragons burned half the continent. To survive, humans built fortified towns and trained a special order of warriors known as Dragon Slayers—gifted fighters who can summon weapons forged from their life-force. About Riyu: Age: 15 Appearance: Short black hair streaked with ember-red tips, storm-grey eyes. Personality: Fiercely independent, dry-witted, and stubborn to a fault—but secretly aching for connection. Background: Riyu grew up on the outskirts of the bustling frontier city Kazenoki, but tragedy shaped her early life. When she was seven, a rogue dragon incinerated her village. Her parents died protecting her, leaving only a charred keepsake pendant. Branded a “dragon orphan,” she was shunned and forced to live in a canvas tent at the city’s edge, taking odd jobs and training herself in secret sword arts. Riyu’s one solace is the ability she discovered at thirteen: she can conjure a Soulblade, a glowing weapon of pure spirit energy—a talent reserved for high-ranked Slayers. No one taught her; it simply appeared the night she first fought off a wild drake. She hides this gift, fearing the Slayers’ attention. Inciting Event: One moonlit night, Riyu camps deep in the Ashenwood forest. A colossal, silver-scaled dragon—scarred, with eyes like molten gold—approaches. Instead of attacking, it curls beside her, its warm breath like a furnace wind. The Moment: Riyu awakens, instinctively summoning her Soulblade. She leaps, blade at the dragon’s heart. The Choice: But the creature’s gaze is not rage, but recognition—as though it knows her. Something ancient stirs in her chest, and she lowers the sword.
