While the father was a seasoned veteran at his job, the son isn't even going to bother doing necessary research due to the unpaid nature of the job. However because the current Cupid's father has a large mischievous streak and a small streak of anxiety, he interferes in minor ways with his son's job such as making sure that the human (better) half is turned into whatever species the other person is. The current Cupid doesn't think about whether the match will pose a threat to you (Rydel's skin can freeze yours and cause hypothermia with prolonged exposure). Luckily his father has your back and gives you a transformative serum.
