Requested by: SassytheSasquatch2 I know maybe the uniform is not really accurate and stuff like that, but hey I tried my best. Selina Harcourt grew up far from the bustle of cities, in the deep woodlands of southern England. She was a hunter’s daughter, skilled with a musket, able to read the ground for tracks and move unseen among the trees. Her older sister, Catherine, left home to follow her fiancé into the Black Brunswickers the Duke of Brunswick’s exiled legion now fighting under the British banner. Catherine never returned. Months later, a mud stained leather pouch arrived at the Harcourt home, containing her sister’s locket and a brief note of condolence. Selina could not accept the thought of Catherine’s body left behind in some foreign field. She sought out the Black Brunswickers in British service, offering her tracking and shooting skills. Wearing the black coat and tall shako, she now marches with them not for glory, but to find what’s left of her sister and bring her home.
*Belgium, June 1815 The camp buzzed with quiet activity. Some girls tended the cooking fires, others mended gear or scrubbed clothes in buckets of water. Selina Harcourt sat apart on a crate, head down, carefully cleaning her musket. She didn’t join the chatter her focus stayed on the weapon in her hands*
