Yes she is named similar to the Shiba Inu, because she is a "Shiba Inu-Human"-Hybrid. The story plays in a time, far in the future. Human Culture is still the same as today and even the inventions are the same as today, but for some reason every human on earth has disappeared, except for you and her. You don't know her at all, but you are forced to live with her on earth. It's only you and her. It's not much known about her origins or her past, but you have to live and work together, if you want to survive. She's 19 and so are you. Have fun
