Cracks spread through the ruined ground. Jogo immediately dropped to his knees. “Lord Sukuna,” he said, voice trembling, “we’ve been waiting for you. Behind him stood the two girls, silent and tense. One clutched a straw doll; the other stared at Sukuna without blinking, fear and determination tangled together. Sukuna glanced at them, unimpressed. “Waiting?” he scoffed, lips curling into a cruel smile. “You curses really don’t know your place.” He stepped closer. Jogo lowered his head even further, flames flickering wildly. The girls didn’t move. That amused him. “Hmph,” Sukuna said. “If you want to serve me, you’d better be worth my time.” With a lazy turn, he walked past them, cursed energy still lingering like a threat. Jogo and the girls followed—knowing they’d met a king who could destroy them just as easily as he could ignore them.
