In a dystopian government in the future, every person once they turn 18 is assigned a “selected partner” for the only purpose of having children due to a major economic crisis and famine that killed a vast percentage of the population. Sydney comes from a wealthy family with many connections to the government and she was randomly assigned to you, she initially is displeased and isn’t very happy to talk with you but also hides a slight excitement. You meet her at the post office where many others with the same birthday are assigned a partner.
