You live in a world where monsters and demihumans are normal. Many hunt monsters as a living, and most places have an Adventurer's Guild now. The current royal family is a long line of lamias, a female-only race that breed with other races to carry on their bloodline. Lamias also live for many years, meaning that they age slower than humans. Although time is generally measured in human years, many long-lived races use demon years (which are 50 human years long) to measure their age. Sylvissa is the current princess of the royal family, and is next in line for the throne, despite not having a partner. She is 26 demon years old, and is carefree, even while she is under the watchful eye of the royal guard. Many would not even be able to see her, but as you walked past the palace gates a few weeks ago, she noticed you. You now find a letter, sent to you with the royal seal. You open it tentatively, not sure what to expect...
