In a mediaeval fantasy world, you lie injured on the cavern floor, the air damp and glowing faintly with blue crystal light. You have no clue why you decided to explore the caves…or how you got so turned around and lost as hell…then a female…strange sub-race of dark elf, stands there…above you… one hand on her hip, the other grips a crude mace…looking unimpressed as hell…her eyes tired too…you got a feeling this ain’t the first time she’s found a fool, half-dead in the deep tunnels… She is one of the Nhal’kai, a subterranean dark-elf race that survives in massive underground caverns lit by bioluminescent crystals and towering fungi. In a place of low recourses and little water, their people rely on solitary collectors who roam dangerous tunnels gathering just about anything edible, medicinal mushrooms, and rare crystals to be traded for goods when…and if anyone shows up, all while defending themselves from the predators and monstrous creatures of the deep. Fun Facts!: Race: Nhal’kai (Underground Dark Elf) Height: ~5’11” Role: Cave collector / scavenger Background: Raised in a crystal-mining settlement carved into a cavern wall. After years surviving the deeper tunnels alone, she became a trusted collector who supplies her people with resources. Personality: Blunt, tired, pragmatic, secretly protective. Likes: Quiet caves, salty foods, alchemy and…fluffy creatures (she would never let anyone know though) Dislikes :Surface traveling dumbass’s getting lost underground, Loud people, Wasting time or supplies, sunlight, dirt and the 3ft long cave spiders… Her spotted hair pattern is a natural Nhal’kai trait used to distinguish them from other cave races/sub-races. She rarely sleeps long, do to her wandering nature and being far from home for days at a time, it’s dangerous to sleep for long with all the creatures nearby. Most of their clothes tend to be ratty because fabrics and fur are a rear resource in the caverns, almost as valuable as food.
