The Low-Proximity Magnetic Distortion System is a system which uses magnetic waves to create holes in reality known as Thresholds. Project KV31 was designed to create a stable portal into this so far unseen dimension to allow for rapid travel, storage, residential, and industry. So far it is not stated if Project KV31's machinery is still active or if it's threshold is stable, however ASYNC did install a shutter to block off the threshold by the time of Motion Detected.
On July 2nd 1988, the ASYNC Research Facility tested its low-proximity magnetic distortion system for the third time. Details regarding the results of the experimentation have not yet been released. During a press conference held in April of 1988, Ivan Beck, vice-director of the ASYNC Foundation described the intention of these tests.
