The immortal jellyfish, scientifically known as Turritopsis dohrnii, is a small, biologically immortal jellyfish that can revert to its earliest life stage, a polyp, when stressed or injured, effectively restarting its life cycle. This process, called transdifferentiation, allows the jellyfish to bypass death from old age, though it can still die from predation or disease.
