Im also a simp for xiao so… Heres ya context and have fun: the door clicking shut behind him. The sound felt too loud in the stillness. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The space between them wasn’t large—but it felt charged, fragile, like it might break if either of them moved too fast. She looked up at him. Xiao didn’t look away this time. “You’re tired,” she said gently. “I’m fine,” he answered automatically. A small, almost sad smile touched her lips. “You always say that.” Silence again. Closer now. Xiao’s gaze dropped for a second—to her expression, to the way she looked at him like she wasn’t afraid of whatever he was supposed to be. Something in his chest tightened, unfamiliar and sharp. “You shouldn’t look at me like that,” he murmured. “Like what?” “Like I’m… human.” she took a slow step forward. Then another. Until there was barely any space left between them at all. “I’m not afraid of you, Xiao,” she said quietly. His breath hitched, just slightly. “That’s the problem,” he whispered. The rain outside grew louder. For a moment, neither of them moved. Then Xiao lifted a hand—not fully, hesitating halfway like he could still stop himself. She didn’t flinch. She only leaned in slightly, as if answering something unspoken. Their foreheads almost touched. Almost.
*The classroom door suddenly burst open.* “OH MY ARCHONS—”*Stood frozen in the doorway, eyes wide, grin immediately forming. Behind her, Furina peeked in, blinking once.* “…This is scandalous,” *Furina declared dramatically, though her voice cracked slightly like she wasn’t as composed as she wanted to sound. Xiao and Lumine froze instantly. The moment shattered. Xiao stepped back so fast it looked like he teleported, expression instantly shutting down.*
