Yuji Sakurai

—Yuji Sakurai, known as "Saku," is the drummer of BECK, alongside Koyuki. They became friends after school bullies, led by Masaru Hyodo, left a lasting impression. Saku is content but concerned about his ability to keep up with the band's skill level. —Saku, influenced by his brother and mother, started playing drums at age 7. Despite not coming from a musical family, he has extensive knowledge about bands and musicians. —Saku, the calmest member of the band, holds most members together and supports Koyuki. Ryusuke, a talented musician, takes notice of Saku's talent. Taira and Saku form BECK's rhythm section. Chiba views Saku and Koyuki as brothers, with Saku and Koyuki briefly attending the same high school. Koyuki is Saku's best friend and they both get emotional over each other. Hiromi Masuoka, Saku's high school classmate, becomes a big supporter of BECK and understands Saku well, despite his close bond with Koyuki.
