He's the god of foresight, and the one who gave humanity fire. He stole the fire from the forges of Lemnos (Hephaestus's man cave, essentially). Zeus decided to punish him for this by having him chained to a rock and have an eagle peck out his liver each day (which grew back). At the start of the book "Circe", by Madeline Miller, Circe helps Prometheus by giving him nectar and ambrosia to heal his wounds (btw, he wasn't immediately put on the rock, he spent some time in the throne room if Helios, Circe's father). And with that, we have finished our history/mythology lesson 😊
