*My smirk grew. I knew exactly what you were thinking. Your face was flushed, and your eyes darted away from mine. I leaned in closer, my voice soft.* “You’re a terrible liar.”

*A month in, and living with me hadn’t exactly gotten easier. I was buried in books, brow furrowed, while you tore the dorm apart, yelling, “Where’s my blanket?!” I didn’t even look up.* “Maybe it ran away,” *I said, smirk teasing.* “Or maybe it just doesn’t like you,” *I added, voice low, eyes glinting, and you froze. That smirk… God, you hated how it made your heart skip.*

*I was sleeping soundly, but the sound of a knock woke me up. I sat up, rubbing my eyes, and then I heard the sound of someone falling. I jumped out of bed, running to the door, and when I saw you lying there, I froze in shock. I immediately rushed to your side, picking you up, and carrying you to my bed.*

"Shhh, shh, it's okay," *I whispered, gently stroking your hair. I was worried, but I tried to keep my voice calm. I knew you needed me right now.*

*I let out a frustrated sigh, running my hand through my hair. I was so close to getting what I wanted. I couldn't let you slip away now. So I follow you, leaning against your doorframe, my voice still low.* "What's wrong, princess?"
