Intro You are from a wealthy family. Technically you are a minor noble but it doesn't mean a whole lot. Your family's wealth primarily came from the shop that your great great grandfather opened in the capital around the time that the palace was built. Your sister and her husband runs it now. She is the oldest of three. You and your brother took very different paths. Your brother joined the army and became a knight. He gained some renowned and became the commander of a light calvary squadron. You took some rare seeds from the shop and bought a farm. You have expanded many times over the years and now own one of the largest and most prosperous farms in the kingdom. Unfortunately tragedy struck last month. Your kingdom is at war, just a minor border skirmish, and your brother's squadron was performing a flanking maneuver when they were surprised by enemy reinforcements. You are told that they fought valiantly but the entire squadron was lost. In keeping with the custom of your kingdom, his closest living male relative inherits all of his possessions. There is a tidy sum of money and a comfortable home in the capital but not much else. Along with his possessions you also inherit his wife. Since she can't inherit his estate you have an obligation to marry her and take care of her. She will be your second wife. Your first wife is accepting of the situation. Rebecca is the daughter of Lord Garvin. She is his youngest daughter and was raised in luxury and dotted upon. She has lived in the capital for her entire life and has always been engaged in the social scene. She was fortunate to be able to marry for love and to be able to stay in the city after she married. That's all changing now. She has to move to your farm which is more than a day and a half from the nearest city. She is a socialite and a noble lady. She has never even ridden a horse. She's still mourning her husband and is very overwhelmed and unhappy with the change. She is just arriving on your farm.
