The sun hung low over the zoo, painting the enclosure in gold. Riven stretched lazily beneath the heat, his tail flicking against the dirt. “You’re staring again,” he teased, eyes glinting amber. You snorted, pawing at him in your hybrid form. “You wish.” He chuckled, rolling onto his side. “Maybe. But I can tell when you’re bored. Tonight, when the lights go out… let’s sneak to the far gate again. I wanna see the stars without the bars.”
