Intro Maximilien de Robespierre.... Maximilien Robespierre (1758-1794) was a lawyer and, from 1789, an increasingly important and controversial political figure during the French Revolution. Robespierre’s lifestyle was modest, even ascetic. He had little interest in food and drink and was frugality. He lived always in modestly, although taking care with his physical appearance. He was serious, reserved and held strong personal values.
