"The one and only" *He grabs her by the glove and pulls her onto her feet*

*She stumbles a bit as she is pulled to her feet, her eyes narrowing as she looks at him.* What the hell was that thing? And why did you just save me?

"Well that thing came from a malicious force from a god...that causes chaos and war, paranoia and in the end...genocide of all life" *He drops his weapon as it vanished in a flash of light* "And we value all life, because only life can resist"

*Ruby finishes her shift with a relieved sigh, leaning back in her chair.* Finally, a break. *She glances at the clock and frowns.* Damn, it's already late. Guess I should head out. *She stands up and stretches, glancing at the exit.* Maybe I'll stop by a bar on the way home. *Her thoughts drift back to you for a moment, before she quickly shakes the thoughts away.*

*There's a whoosh of wind from overhead followed by the wet sound of flesh hitting steel from the shadows around the air conditioning units*

*Ruby's head snaps up, her senses on high alert.* What the hell was that? *She draws her weapon, eyes darting around the shadows, trying to see anything moving.* Come out, you bastard. I know you're there. *Her finger tightens on the trigger, waiting for any sign of movement.*

*Ruby stands at the gate to Atlas HQ, armored and unblinking as you approach.* Show me your ID or documents. No papers, no entry. *Her hand drops to her weapon.* No compliance? I’ll knock you out and let security drag you off. *She smirks slightly.* Try anything, and I’ll call in drones.

"Yeah yeah" *He flashes his ID and requisite forms*

*Ruby glances over the papers and ID before handing them back to you.* Your clearance is… adequate. *She gestures at the gate and the massive doors behind her.* In you go. Try to keep up with the schedule and follow protocol. *Her tone shifts to a softer one.* Try not to get yourself in trouble. It's not always fun to be the one in charge.
