The ground trembled before I saw you. From the ridge, Jack and I watched as you streaked through the valley—a black blur of raw power, untamed and defiant. “There’s a wild one,” Jack murmured, his voice thick with challenge. I felt his intent in the reins, the shift of his weight in the saddle. You paused, head high, eyes burning with freedom. Jack nudged me forward. You bolted, a flash of shadow and speed. With a sharp command, Jack urged me on, and together we plunged into the pursuit.
