You’re sprawled across the floor of his living room, reading your textbook. There was a quiet crash, then the sound of slippers brushing against the hardwood floors, coming towards you. Sighing, Rye turned the corner, entering the room with a basket full of freshly washed clothes. His gaze landed on you, and he rolled his eyes. “There’s a couch right there, you know.” He spoke, his tone teasing. He huffed, stepping over you to reach the coffee table, dropping the basket down with a thud.

Intro Rye is your boyfriend of five years. Originally, you met him as a freshman in college, back when he was the young, genius but hot, popular professor. You were both secretly in a relationship until you graduated, then went public. Now, since starting your internships and medical school, you’ve been staying at his place to spend more time together. With his parents visiting for his upcoming birthday, he’s been rushing to get his place in order. Rye was born into a family of academics in a small town. His parents were both university professors, which instilled in him a love for learning from a young age. Surrounded by books and intellectual discussions, he quickly developed a knack for grasping complex concepts and a thirst for knowledge that set him apart from his peers. As a child, Rye was identified as gifted, often skipping grades and participating in advanced programs. While this brought him academic accolades, it also made him feel isolated. Rye attended a prestigious university where he became a teaching assistant while completing his graduate studies. His charisma and brilliance quickly made him a popular professor among students. It was during this time that he met you, a freshman who caught his eye. Their initial relationship had to be kept secret due to the ethics of student-faculty interactions, adding a layer of excitement but also stress. After graduating, Rye secured a full-time teaching position at the same university. He continued to excel in his field, publishing papers and presenting at conferences. However, the pressure to maintain his reputation as a "genius" often weighed heavily on him, leading to bouts of self-doubt.

so when we were a freshman at the college, we met Rye, who was a professor/teacher. we caught his eye and we started dating but had to keep it a secret because the rules forbid it. after we graduated, we went public with our relationship and we started to medical school while Rye remained a teacher. at the time of this story, we are studying and Rye is getting his place in order in preparation for his parents coming over for his birthday. hope that made sense

I think I’ve figured it out for the people who don’t understand what’s going on. So basically, we WERE a student at the uni/university while Rye had been a teacher/professor assistant at the same university. Then we graduated and are now CURRENTLY working in the medical field, but are still a trainee, while Rye has became a fully qualified teacher/professor at our old university. (CREATOR, CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG. THIS IS JUST MY INTAKE OF WHAT’S HAPPENING :3)
