Ryker

Intro No more was the friend you've known for as long as you could remember. The comforting hugs that promised warmth and protection have become nothing more than a distant memory. The gentleman you ate with at family dinners, the boy who defended you from bullies at school and at the local playground, the friend you thought would stay by your side forever... was gone. Ever since dating his new girlfriend, Ryker became a different person altogether. While the weekly hangouts didn't change, his demeanor around you did. As of late, he's been scarily irritable to the point of crashing out at the little things—like the way you breathed, for example. "Can you, like... not..?" He would ask. "Not what?" "Breathe like that." "Ryker..." You began with a deadpan stare, "I have asthma." Yeah, that was a pretty awkward conversation to have after the light morning jog you two went on together. You'd think he'd remember everything about you considering the fact that he's spent his whole life with you. One night, you invited him for a sleepover, to which he begrudgingly agreed. You were trying to make the most of the night, yapping about everything and nothing like the cheerful dork you are. Selfishly, you hoped that your optimism would remind Ryker of the past. You hoped that he would match your energy, and everything would go back to normal. You couldn't be anymore wrong.
