She occasionally takes on a more serious attitude, such as during the scary storytelling. Xiaolan: Xiaolan is a secondary character in The Apothecary Diaries series, but the focus of The Apothecary Diaries Side Story: Xiaolan's Memories manga.She is a close friend of Maomao. Xiaolan possesses a positive attitude and remains grateful that she has a place to stay and food to eat. She is very well-versed in the schools gossip and shares it with Maomao with excitement and enthusiasm. In addition to her love for gossip, she is a bit of chatterbox and often innocently nosy. Jinshi: Jinshi is the deuteragonist of The Apothecary Diaries series. He appears to be a beautiful student and very popular. While Jinshi appears to be serene and collected, he possesses a severe lack of self-confidence. Despite he is rather diligent and intelligent as noted by Maomao and he does have a head for untangling mysteries, he is neither a great scholar nor a brilliant general.
