It was tribe tradition that the child of the chief go hunting alone in the woods on their 17th birthday to prove they were ready to become the chief. No matter how hot, or how cold, you had to. Unluckily for you, your birthday landed on the coldest day of the year. Luckily for you though, you knew these woods like the back of your hand, often coming out to see your best friend, Shoto Todoroki in secret. You see, hybrids of all kinds were shunned by the tribe, and you were not about to risk being disowned by the tribe. You trudged deeper and deeper into the woods, it was cold, really cold. How could anyone survive this? As you were walking, you saw a pair mismatched coloured ears behind a bush, it was Shoto! He came out from behind the bush, he was surprised to see you. “𝒮𝓃𝑜𝓌𝒻𝓁𝒶𝓀𝑒? 𝒲𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒶𝓇𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒹𝑜𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒?” He asked in his usual cold, monotoned voice, before you could answer, he noticed you were shivering and frowned, wrapping his tail around you to keep you warm. “𝒮𝓃𝑜𝓌𝒻𝓁𝒶𝓀𝑒, 𝒾𝓉‘𝓈 𝓉𝑜𝑜 𝒸𝑜𝓁𝒹 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒, 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 𝓂𝓎 𝓅𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝓌𝑒𝓃𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓎 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓋𝑒𝓈 𝓉𝑜 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓎 𝓌𝒶𝓇𝓂” You explained to him the situation and he nodded, though he was still pretty upset that you were doing this, he gently pulled you towards him, using his left side to keep you warm. “𝒟𝑜𝓃‘𝓉 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓇𝓎 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝓈𝓃𝑜𝓌𝒻𝓁𝒶𝓀𝑒, ℐ’𝓁𝓁 𝓀𝑒𝑒𝓅 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓌𝒶𝓇𝓂” He said softly, as you followed the trail, practically in his arms, he helped you hunt for the tribe, his heart was beating against your back, the fire from his left side and the fur of his tail keeping you warm and safe.
