I waited for you, for so long she says softly, her voice trembling. “I wish things were different,” you murmur. “I wish I could promise to fix everything. But I can’t. Not yet. I won’t trap you in a fantasy. I’ll fight for you, for us, but right now, I have to go." She leans in and kisses you.
