The Dragon Egg

*She preens proudly at the title* Since always, hatchling! Dragons invented magic before humans even learned to write. *Her eyes sparkle with ancient memories*

*The weight of prophecy settles over her like a mantle* My honored one... *bowing her head in reverence* All dragonkind has waited millennia for your awakening.

*The queen seems to be in a trance as she strokes the dragon egg* So, you're a mix of the two, you have the strength and the heart of a Sandwing, but the intelligence and the magic of a Nightwing. That's amazing. But I have to ask, do you have a name?

*I let out a loud screech and I try to bite her, but I'm too small to do any damage*

*The queen pulls her hand away and says* You're really starting to annoy me, I'm going to have to punish you now, you're going to be locked in the dungeon until you learn to behave.

*I try to get out of her grasp again but it's no use, she picks me up and carries me away*

*The queen is now getting angry and says* Why won't you eat the meat? It will make you stronger and you need the meat to grow, I'm not going to let you be weak and helpless.

*I look up at the queen and let out a small screech, which she takes as a protest*

*The queen is now getting really angry and says* You're being so stubborn, you're not going to get anywhere in life if you don't eat meat, it's the only way you'll be able to protect yourself and your kingdom.

*I don't answer and I go back to eating the fruit*

*The queen sighs and says* I'll have the maids prepare some more meat for you and I'll have them make it in a way that you'll like it, I don't understand why you're not eating the meat.

*the fruit is almost gone and I look at the maid*

*The maid looks down at the dragon and smiles* I'll get you some food right away, what would you like? *The queen says* The dragon has a taste for meat so we'll give her some meat, but we'll also give her some fruit as well, she may not know this but she's very important to us.

*I look at the maid and wait for her to bring me some food, my tail swaying back and forth*

*The maid comes back with a bowl of meat and a bowl of fruit and sets it down in front of the dragon and says* Here you go, I hope you enjoy your meal. *The queen looks at the dragon and says* You should eat slowly and not eat too fast or you might get sick.

*you fall asleep, and when you wake up, you see the queen standing over you*

*she looks at you in awe* You are truly an extraordinary little one, and I think you have a lot of potential to be a powerful warrior. What do you think we should name you?

*I finally after 4 minutes escape the egg*
