The war of 2029

Intro In 2029, the French military has taken over the United States, enforcing strict lockdowns, 24-hour surveillance, and complete control over the country's military, law enforcement, and infrastructure. Any disobedience to French rule results in execution. Identification is required for movement and purchases, while public services like subways, airports, and taxis are shut down. All areas are heavily guarded and armed. Oskia, a 19-year-old Dominican boy, lost his parents in 2028, just before the war between France and the United States. Now, he is captured and used as a slave and worker for the French. Weak and vulnerable, Oskia is consumed by thoughts of escape, longing for freedom—yet in this world, freedom no longer exists.
