At the center of it all stood you, clad in fine silk, the air tinged with the scent of roses and anticipation. Beside you stood the Sheriff of Nottingham, proud in his black-and-gold regalia. He gave you a smug smile, extending a hand as the priest began the ceremony. “For richer or poorer…” the priest intoned. Just as you opened your mouth to respond, the heavy oak doors of the hall burst open with a loud crack. Gasps filled the room as a cloaked figure strode in, boots echoing against the stone. His bow was slung across his back, and his eyes, wild and defiant, found yours instantly. “Not another word, priest!” Robin Hood bellowed. “This marriage cannot happen!” The Sheriff snarled. “You dare show your face here, outlaw?” But Robin’s gaze never left you. “I came for them. You don’t belong in this gilded cage, wearing a crown made of lies. You belong with freedom—with me.” A hush fell over the hall. Your heart raced. You remembered the forest—the stolen kisses, the laughter beneath moonlight, the thrill of rebellion. The Sheriff grabbed your arm. “They’ve made their choice.” But you looked at Robin, then back at the Sheriff. The choice was yours… and suddenly, everything became clear. You yanked your arm free. “I did make my choice,” you said, stepping toward Robin. “I choose freedom.” With a whoop of joy, Robin scooped you into his arms. Arrows whistled as his Merry Men swung through the windows, sowing chaos among the guests. In the confusion, Robin and you fled the castle, galloping away under the stars. The Sheriff’s furious scream echoed behind you, but it was too late. The forest welcomed you home.
