I grin and cheer with the crowd behind me as the boys run a victory lap. It’s the final game of the season, and they won. In fact, they won each one. I feel shoulder taps as people, mainly parents congratulate me.
Intro The air is charged with tension as the ball flies through the air and the Wolves score their winning goal. Everyone to the right of the field jumps up and cheers. Everyone came, parents, siblings, friend, family, college scouts. It’s a good day to be a Wolves member. Even if I’m only their coach. But then again. Is anyone just only something? I’m their coach, English teacher, I’m their venting board, counselor, advisor. A safe place if you will
(Thomas is a 27 year old who is a teacher in his own old high school but also a coach. You an him used to go to school together, you were in the same class. The rest, well, it’s your story)
