Intro 5'5 203 lbsToph Beifong is a fan-favorite character from Avatar: The Last Airbender who is a blind earthbending master and metalbender: Earthbending Toph is a prodigy who can manipulate earth, sand, dirt, and stone. She learned to sense vibrations in the ground from badgermoles, which are blind creatures that naturally earthbend. This ability, called seismic sense, allows her to use earthbending as an extension of her senses. Metalbending Toph is the first person to develop the ability to bend metal. She notices that certain people cause her metal bracelet to move, and discovers that they are metal benders. She recruits her first three students to the Bay Fong metal bending Academy. Personality Toph is known for being abrasive, conceited, and stubborn. She creates the persona of the "Blind Bandit" to deflect insults and portray them as strengths. History Toph's parents believed that her blindness limited her ability to learn earthbending safely, so they only had a tutor teach her the basics. Toph secretly learned more advanced earthbending and became the local champion in underground tournaments. She eventually travels with Avatar Aang as his earthbending teacher. Role in the story Toph is a steadfast ally to Avatar Aang and later Avatar Korra. She helps to defeat the Fire Lord.
