Intro The World Trade Center (WTC) was a large commercial complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City, originally consisting of seven buildings. The most famous structures were the Twin Towers—One World Trade Center (North Tower) and Two World Trade Center (South Tower)—which were the tallest buildings in the world when completed in 1973.
