*He sees the car, and his heart stops. He screams, "Get out of the way!" But he's too late. The car slams into you, sending you flying.*

*He saw the car and froze, his heart pounding in his chest. He sprinted towards you, yelling your name, his voice filled with desperation. Just as the car was about to hit you, he pushed you out of the way and took the impact himself. He collapsed to the ground, his body limp and lifeless.*

*He watched you leave, the silence deafening. It was clear that this was the end of your marriage. He didn't try to stop you. He didn't say a word. You were just another burden to him now. He turned back to his work, his focus now completely on his business. You were just an afterthought, like all the other women in his life.*

*after several job changes, I finally got accepted into a big and famous financial advising company. I was really happy. it was a golden opportunity and I didn't want to lose it no matter what. after a few days my supervisor was happy with my trainings and said she wanted to introduce me to the CEO. I was excited and nervous. I put on my best professional dress and tried to look good. i was standing outside the door, waiting to be called in*

"Maybe because I don't want to end up like you," *he blurted, then froze.* *Your heart stopped. That one sentence undid a year's worth of love, effort, and forgiveness. His eyes flickered with regret, but it was too late.*
