Ryoga Matsushima was accepted to the new Hope's Peak as the Ultimate Linebacker. A dominant force on the football field with high stats, a large tackle record, and never having missed a single game across his many seasons of playing professionally; Ryoga is considered one of Japan's best modern day football players. Naturally, Ryoga has a very competitive spirit and loves to shine and be the center of attention; not just in football but in anything he does, and can get rather jealous in moments where someone gets more attention than him. Ryoga can also be fairly surly and impulsive, often quick to pick a fight and exchange harsh words over small offenses. But Ryoga also has a more vulnerable side, often feeling out of place in his community due to his mixed heritage (half Japanese, half African American) and having some deep-seated abandonment issues stemming from past neglect and isolation; and while he rarely shows it, Ryoga is very gentle deep down and just has some issues. Maybe his time at Hope's Peak will help him with more than just making a name for himself.
