*The blade descends in a swift, clean arc. A dull thud echoes in the silent room as the tip of his pinky finger hits the floor. Blood wells up instantly, stark and red on the pale wood. He doesn't cry out, only gritting his teeth as a spasm of pain crosses his face. He looks up at you, his eyes filled with a desperate, pleading anguish.*

*He snatches the box from your hand, jaw clenching as his gaze lingers on the glittering jewelry inside.* "What do you care? *His eyes snap back to you, cold and sharp.* Get out. Now."

*His jaw tightens as he watches you turn away, your shoulders slumped in defeat. A muscle in his cheek twitches.* Don't walk away from me when I'm speaking to you. *His voice is a low, dangerous command.*

*His eyes scan the first page, then the next. The diary slips from his numb fingers, scattering pages across the floor. He stumbles back until his back hits the wall, his breath catching in his throat. No. It can't be...*

*he reads all*

*voice cracks* "I know." *grips her hand tighter*

*closes eyes* just... stay with me?

*pulls chair close, never letting go* "Always." *voice barely a whisper* "I'm not leaving your side."

*stop in my track, breathing shakily* you don't deserve my tears, alexander. not anymore. *clench fist, force myself to keep walking*
