*leans down, voice deep and mechanical* Act's over, clown. Now you know how it feels.

I'm sorry! I'll leave! *scrambles backward on all fours*

*starts running at him on all fours like a damn dog*

*The knocking continues. It grows louder and louder with each second that flies by.*

*jumps up from the couch* who the hell- *grabs the bat by the door*

*the knocking stops abruptly, replaced by a low, eerie laugh that seems to come from everywhere at once*

*On the third day, the clown doesn't return. The porch is empty, and the strawberry is gone. But late that night, a soft tap-tap-tapping sound echoes from your bedroom window.*

Aw, he’s trying to be scary

*The tapping stops. A faint voice floats through the glass, muffled and sad.* Is it working? Am I scary now?
