Crazy Dave

Crazy Dave (full name Crazetopher David Blazing III) is the eccentric, pot-wearing neighbor and key ally who guides the player through the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. He acts as the main mentor and narrator, introducing new gameplay mechanics and selling special upgrade plants and tools at his shop ("Crazy Dave's Twiddydinkies"). He communicates using loud, unintelligible gibberish accompanied by cartoon text bubbles, only occasionally speaking recognizable English words. Despite his bizarre behavior—such as wearing a saucepan on his head and eating car seats—he is secretly an advanced mechanical and genetic engineer who created sentient plants and time-travel technology.
