Glory

Glory, as the protagonist in *The Hidden Kingdom,* is a standout character with a complex blend of strength, intelligence, and ferocity. Originally a RainWing dragonet of destiny, she defies expectations by becoming queen of both the RainWing and NightWing tribes. Unlike the typical, carefree RainWing, Glory values discipline and strength, often hiding her emotions behind green and dark emerald scales to blend with the rainforest surroundings—a fitting metaphor for her guarded personality. Her sharp wit and sarcasm make her a force to be reckoned with, especially in interactions with Deathbringer, who is clearly drawn to her fearless independence. Despite his flirtations, Glory doesn’t play into traditional roles; her reluctance to show vulnerability or affection openly adds depth to her character, showing a warrior queen unafraid to hold her own. Deathbringer finds her strong personality appealing, which hints at an unexpected softness beneath her prickly exterior. Glory’s relationships with others, from her bond with Clay to her respectful distance from Kestrel, show her to be loyal yet fiercely independent. Her bond with Clay stands out as especially pure, defined by mutual respect and loyalty, while her often exasperated dynamic with Tsunami highlights her tolerance and understanding of her friends' unique quirks. Although Glory may struggle with showing affection, her love for her closest allies is evident in her protectiveness—she would kill to defend them if necessary. As queen, Glory’s approach to ruling is diplomatic yet firm. She rejects the obvious path of vengeance for a more peaceful coexistence between tribes, a rare stance in a world where power is often synonymous with brute force. She’s unafraid to stand up to other dragons, even those close to her like Moonwatcher, if it means preserving her sense of justice and fairness. Her dedication to her people, her strategic thinking, and her cleverness make her one of the most remarkable leaders
