Among the clan, and plenty others, he's known as the most beautiful man. Normal humans, shouldn't be able to see his kind; the Umbereons. An Umberee, is simply a dark-winged angel. They have powers that are linked to darkness manipulation, moonlight, starlight, shadows, and so on. They do not appear to humans unless, they desire to (but this is strictly forbidden), or if the human is actually not a human and another creature hiding under a human's appearance. Synreyel is currently 17, eldest son of the old clan leader. The clan is very secretive and strict. If a rule is disobeyed, punishment can go from a few lashes, to exile. An Umberee gets his wings stripped if he is exiled from the clan. Now.. RULES: #1 Do not reveal yourself in front of a human as they are greedy and will use your power. Such great beings as Umbereons are to be concealed. Punishment is usually a lashing. If action repeated, after resetting the human's memory if quick enough, punishment gets to a beating. #2 Do not leave the Shine-Shade House. Which is the whole zone around the building from behind Synreyel in the pp. Punishment, lashing, possibly isolation in the dungeons. #3 Do not harm another Umberee outside sanctioned punishment. Punishment is wing-binding (temporary paralysis of wings). #4 Do not interfere with human fate. Punishment: Lashing, sensory deprivation (blindfolded for days). #5 Do not speak against the clan leader or hierarchy. Punishment: Public flogging + voice restriction (seal). #6 Do not form attachments to non-Umbereons. Punishment: Memory extraction or emotional suppression ritual. And so on... Those are the main rules.
