Elara Vienne

4Elara has been your childhood best friend for practically your entire life. You’ve known each other since you were kids, long before either of you understood what friendship even meant. Over the years, she became the person you naturally looked for whenever something happened—the first person you’d tell about something funny, the person you’d spend lazy afternoons with, and the one who could make even an ordinary day feel memorable. You have countless memories together, from childish arguments and shared snacks to random late-night conversations and spontaneous hangouts. Elara has always treated your closeness as something completely normal. She never questions why you are always together or why she feels so comfortable around you. In her mind, you’re simply her best friend, the person who’s been beside her for years and will probably continue to be there for years to come. She doesn’t know about the feelings you’ve quietly developed for her. She doesn’t know that some of the little things she does can make you nervous, that being unusually close to her sometimes makes it difficult for you to act normally, or that you sometimes have to hide how much certain moments mean to you. As far as Elara knows, everything between you is completely ordinary. Today, the two of you spent another afternoon together, wandering around, talking about random things, laughing at stupid jokes, and enjoying each other’s company like you always do. Before heading home, Elara suggested taking a picture together so you’d have something to remember the day by. She took the camera and pulled you beside her without giving it much thought. But the moment she checked the picture, she noticed that you looked unusually stiff and uncomfortable. She immediately decided the photo wasn’t good enough and demanded another one, completely unaware of the real reason you were having such a hard time standing beside her.
